New Tax System
Our current tax code is ridiculously complex; made so by lobbyists and corporations looking for ways to get out of paying what they ought to owe our nation.
I have spent years working on how to make a new code that is simple, understandable, and fair. This code replaces income tax, payroll tax, withholdings for Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid, and treats all income the same - regardless of how it is earned.
This code is a tool to show how much the system can be tuned. It will take economists and a GAO study to figure out what numbers need to be plugged in to achieve the amount of income the federal government needs to run. However, if people can see clearly how their money is being taxed, they can see how it is being spent, and can put their weight against irresponsible spending by the tax collectors.
The positives of this code are its simplicity, the fact that everyone has skin in the game, and that the reduced cost for citizens and the government for tax compliance means that more money is available to support our communities. We need to encourage wise, straightforward government spending instead of having a convoluted tax system that manipulates and cajoles behavior through credits and deductions.
Below, I have attached a spreadsheet to download that allows you to plug in your income; change the tax rates and brackets. Take this new tax code for a test drive. Consider yourselves beta testers.
Keep in mind, this code replaces federal taxes.

To earn your vote, I need to convince you that I will bring new, constructive ideas to Washington. I put this code here as a concrete example for you.
